Composer, Lyricist, Performer
is a Manhattan based musical theatre writer and performer from Kansas. His first musical Love Is... (written with Brody Horn) was workshopped at The University of Kansas, where Michael studied music and theatre. While there he also scored the university's production of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House and provided music for a new translation of Moliere's The Hypochondriac.
After arriving in NYC, Michael was busy providing arrangements for the new musical Rock and a Hard Place, which received an industry reading in Summer of 2016. Additionally, Michael was hired to write book and lyrics for a new musical adaptation of Thomas Middleton's The Revenger's Tragedy which had its first developmental reading in Fall of 2016.
Michael also spent the last year performing in venues such as The Connelly Theater, The Metropolitan Room, and with the Cranky Cabaret in addition to playing trombone in various pit-orchestras throughout the city. When not writing or performing, Michael can be found doing stand up at Coogan's Irish Pub & Restaurant in Washington Heights.
